Feature & Follow Friday

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts  ParajunkeeAlison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

Question of the Week: Time for Book Spine Poetry again! Take a picture of your book spines spelling out something epic.

Moon Women
The Girl Who Chased the Moon

Question of the Week: What were your favorite books of 2013?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately, as I've done a post on my top reads from 2013 and I am currently working on a 2013 end of year survey.
I would say my favorite 2013 books are:

I am so sad to say I didn't get ONE BOOK for Christmas!! One of my student's DID give me  a Barnes & Noble gift card (All A's for her this year...LOL). I plan to use it ASAP. Right now I am reading the same stuff I was reading before Christmas... :(

Feature and Follow Friday

It's Feature & Follow Friday- a Friday meme hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. Gain new followers and make new friends!

Today's Question:

Have you ever broken up with a series? If so, which one and why?

Ok this may offend some people (ha!) but I broke up with the Harry Potter series when I realized it was basically formula and they were all pretty much the same.....Whoa! Put down the swords! Maybe it was my age, OK? I was an adult when they came out. I know for a fact that, had I been in middle or high school, I would have devoured them. So maybe that was it....

And, to be honest, I am not sure if I will keep with the Diviners series, either... The first one had some issues...so we will just have to see what happens....

Feature and Follow Friday

It's Feature & Follow Friday, a meme hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.

Today's Question:
Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us a bout a fun or fail scene in your current read.

I am currently reading Salting Roses by Lorelle Marinello. I know it has been out there awhile, but it has just been languishing in my TBR basket for ages.

Gracie Lynne Calloway began her small life in Shady Grove, Alabama, fast asleep in a coal bucket on the front porch of 1854 Peachtree Lane. At 8 am she was carried in with the morning paper and a short note...

Feature & Follow Friday

It's Feature and Follow Friday- a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. This is an awesome way to meet new bloggers and gain followers for your blog. You can sign up at either site, and rules are listed on both sites.

Today's question:

Q: Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate -- ? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?

When I first started reading Backseat Saints by Joshilyn Jackson I really thought I'd hate it. As a matter of fact, I put it down and didn't pick it back up for a while. I picked it up again later and LOVED it. It was a little slow getting started, but I just had to give it a chance.

Feature and Follow Friday

It's Feature and Follow Friday! This is a meme hosted by Alison Can Read & Parajunkee. What a great way to learn about new books and meet new bloggers!

Today's Question:

Q: Tell us about the most emotional scene you’ve ever read in a book – and how did you react?

A: The most emotional scene that I remember lately was in The Good Dream when the doctor discovers how much the little boy has actually been abused.  I cried and cried. That book really tore at my heart strings. Us Southern Girls love our babies...   Can't wait to read everyone's answers!

You can sign up on either of the above links to participate. The rules are on both blogs.

Today's Question:

Activity! Hopefully warm weather for most of us is here soon…so tell us about your favorite outdoor reading spot. Or take a picture.

My favorite reading spot is anywhere outdoors. I have one swing on the back porch and another swing out in a shady area of the yard. (We southerners are bog on swings.) If my daughter is playing outside, I love to read in a sunny spot where I can also watch her play.

I can't wait to read your FAF's!!

You can sign up at either site. After that, visit as many FAF posts as possible. Follow their FAF posts. They will follow you back. (It helps to tell them if you are a "new follower" or and "old follower.

This week's question:

What is a book you didn’t like that all your friends raved about or what book did you love that wasn’t popular?

This is easy- that whole Shades of Gray thing- hated it! That had to be the most boring, brainless bunch of silliness I've ever read- or attempted to read- in my life. I couldn't finish it. My self respect wouldn't allow it.   That being said....can't wait to read the other FAFs!!

Feature and Follow Friday

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Welcome to Feature and Follow Friday!

This meme is hosted byParajunkee & Alison Can Read.
You can sign up at either site. After that, visit as many FAF posts as possible. Follow their FAF posts. They will follow you back. (It helps to tell them if you are a "new follower" or and "old follower".)

Today's Question:

Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you’ve done, that as you gained more experience you were like — oops?

My biggest mistake was not participating in memes and getting my name "out there".  I didn't promote myself or my blog as much as I should have. I didn't publish my reviews on other sites as much as I should have. I am still learning. It's an ongoing process. You live, you learn....

Feature & Follow Friday #2

It's Feature and Follow Friday!

This is a great way to discover new blogs and gain followers for your blog.
Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. You can sign up at either site. After that, visit as many FAF posts as possible. Follow their FAF posts. They will follow you back. (It helps to tell them if you are a "new follower" or and "old follower".)

 Todays Question-

If they were throwing the HOTTEST books of a Mardis Gras float, what would you do to have them throw to you?

Well....whether hottest means most popular with everyone else or just to me....I wouldn't do what most women do to get things thrown from a Mardis Gras float. I HOPE I'm beyond that...LOL. I guess I'd just act like an obnoxious fool and knock people out of the way to catch the ones I want. (I guess I'm not beyond that. Ha!)

Happy FAF Friday!
Be sure and leave a link if you're a new follower so I can follow you back!!

PS- Please click on the Facebook link and "like" my new page! I'm just getting it started...so show a girl a little love, will ya?

Feature and Follow Friday

Greetings and Happy Friday!
This is my first Feature and Follow Friday! (So excited!)

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.
It's a great way to get your blog noticed and get new followers. Visit either of the above sites to sign up. After that, you can visit and join as many blogs as possible and leave a comment on their FAF post.  They will follow you back.

I prefer to be followed through Google or Networked Blogs, but Linky works as well.

This week's question: What would you do if you woke up in your favorite book?

Well, my favorite book ever is Oral History by Lee Smith.  I guess it depends on which part of the 150 year span I woke up in.... I think I'd fall in love with ALmarine Cantrell, though. I'm pretty sure I would....
Have a wonderful Friday!
